Some people become circus artists because they are born into circus families, or begin as children and graduate from circus school. Others switch over to circus art from other disciplines such as sports acrobatics, gymnastics, or dance, and then there are those crazy people from extreme sport who wind up performing their dare devil tricks in a circus tent. Whichever path led you to make circus art your life, breaking into the circus industry can be very difficult. When you look on the internet at the vast amounts of competition out there, and all the glossy, professional websites with amazing photos of circus artists captured in flight, the task of getting your foot in the door can seem almost overwhelming. Don't worry, it's not. It takes a bit of work though, and most of all persistence.
